Edges of Time

The Edges of Time

--Kay Ryan

It is at the edges

that time thins.

Time which had been

dense and viscous

as amber suspending

intentions like bees

unseizes them. A

humming begins,

apparently coming

from stacks of

put-off things or

just in back. A

racket of claims now,

as time flattens. A

glittering fan of things

competing to happen,

brilliant and urgent

as fish when seas

retreat.

Time is the true gift...the only gift we may give ourselves to create and love others. Beautiful work. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

I haven't had much time to blog or comment lately but wanted to say how much I love this journal work. I just bought Kay Ryan's new book on my iPad and love her work -spare but really packs a punch. Your journal work here echoes the many layers and depth of the poem. So beautifully done Pam!
